Creature comforts at cinema
Sheep’s wool is being used to keep cinemagoers in the Amman Valley cosy this winter.
Brynamman cinema has received grant funding of £10462 for Thermafleece, an environmentally friendly product made from sheep’s wool.
Brian Harries who helps manage the hall, said, “The difference in the temperature is tremendous. In the evenings we have to turn off the heat two hours sooner than we did before the insulation was put in and the cinema stays warm well into the following day.”
The natural breathable material is easy to install with no worries about skin irritation or inhalation of harmful substances.
The grant, which was obtained from Awel Aman Tawe, was funded by the county council Objective 1 money, and a lottery funded grants programme.
